Alfred Still (January 28, 1869 – May 3, 1963) was an electrical engineering lecturer.[1]

Biography

Still was born in Gloucestershire, England, received his primary education in Dieppe, Normandy, France, and entered Finsbury Technical College in London, England at the age of 16, under the guidance of Dr. Silvanus P. Thompson. After graduating, he worked on the development of Britain's first hydroelectric power plant and later became a designer and manufacturer of electrical machinery in Manchester, England.

In early 1911, he moved to Canada to take charge of hydroelectric development work for the Lake Superior Power Company, with its central office in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.[2]
