Astro Bot is an upcoming 2024 platform game in the Astro Bot series, set to release exclusively on the PlayStation 5 on September 6, 2024. It is a follow-up to Astro's Playroom, which was a launch title for the PlayStation 5 that launched alongside the console on November 12, 2020.[1]
Gameplay
Astro Bot will feature many of the same gameplay elements as its predecessor; it is a single-player video game platformer in which the player controls Astro Bot through over 80 3D levels.[2][non-primary source needed] The game expands upon the previous by introducing 15 new abilities that the player can use, including a dog named Barkster the Bulldog Booster, a long-range weapon known as the Twin-Frog Gloves and the Giant Sponge ability which grows Astro Bot to a substantial size by absorbing water.[3]
Development
The game was first officially announced during the State of Play livestream event held on May 30, 2024, in which gameplay footage and its release date was revealed.[4]
