Biography[edit]

Nana Tuffour Okai (Born March 23, 1992) known professionally as Bboy Lyricx, is a Ghanaian dance athlete, dance coach and choreographer. He is the founder of Africa Breaking Academy (ABA) and worldwide acknowledged as the pioneer of the AfroBreak movement. His contribution to the Ghanaian Street Dance Culture has earned him numerous accolades including Best Bboy/Flip in Ghana at Dance Ghana Awards 2021.[1]

Philanthropy[edit]

Bboy Lyricx established the Africa Breaking Academy a Non-for-profit organization empowering and promoting Breakdance by organizing free dance workshops and dance events as a tool of edutainment to promote  Hip Hop elements in his country Ghana and other Africa countries such as Benin, Nigeria etc. His humanitarian efforts as a Hip hop educator earned him becoming the Ghanaian Manager of Generation Hip Hop Global.

Early Life[edit]

Nana Tuffour Okai was born on 23rd March 1992 in a town called Offinso in the Ashanti region of Ghana. His parents move to Accra, Larterbiokorshie where he had his early education till he further moved to the Northern part of Ghana to acquire his Bachelor's Degree in Integrated  Business Studies(Management) at University for Development Studies (UDS)

Career[edit]

Bboy Lyricx has performed on stages and featured in music videos with several musical artists including Sarkodie, Guru, Sena Dagadu, and others. His consistent efforts to add up the Dance culture as a hip hop practitioner made him create the "AfroBreak Movement" with his friends which is a blend of "Afrodance" and "Breakdance" on "Afrobreak" music.
