Charlotte Fleming (born 9 January 2002) is an English footballer who currently plays for London City Lionesses.
Since graduating from Chelsea academy in 2020 at the age of 18 she signed her first professional contract for Chelsea Women F.C[1] in the Women’s Super League, in which she moved to Leicester City Women F.C for the second half of the 2020/21 season[2] until her eventual move to current women’s Championship team London City Lionesses in 2021/2022. [3] Fleming also featured multiple times for England Youth, most notably England Women’s Under 17s between 2018 - 2019.
Club Career[edit]
Chelsea Women F.C[edit]
Fleming started her club career in Chelsea’s academy which she joined at the age of 10 and stayed at for 8 years. Until in 2020 she signed her first professional contract with the senior side at 18 years old. After making her senior debut in November 2019 against Championship side Lewes and in January 2020 making her second for the club against Charlton Athletic. Her pitch time became limited due to a calf injury she sustained during the Charlton Athletic game leading to no further appearances for the club.
Leicester F.C[edit]
Following Fleming's calf injury she signed for FA Women’s Championship side Leicester City Women in the second half of the 2020/2021 season, in which she only made one appearance for the team[4], coming on as a substitute. In this time she became a Women’s Championship winner as Leicester City Women won the league and gained promotion to the FA women’s super league.
London City Lionesses[edit]
On July 20th 2021 it was announced that Fleming would join fellow Championship side London City Lionesses following Leicester's promotion to the Super League. During the 2021/2022 season she helped London City reach Runners up in the Women’s Championship.
