Devin Leary (Born Aug. 9th, 1998) is an American Filmmaker, Content Creator, Videographer, and founder of Leary Studios, which is now known as his own name, Devin Leary. In 2019, he collaborated by editing for David Brier and Ahmad Imam to create the videos that have been recognized in Forbes and Inc.

Early Life

Devin Leary was born into the Leary Angus family on August 9th, 1998. Devin was brought up by his mother, Sue Leary at the age of 19. His grandfather helped raised him until the age of 3. He and his mother moved to Prairie Du Chien until his mother's career forced them to move to Tomah, WI. There, had to redo Kindergarten for needing to improve social skills. [1]He went to a private catholic school from kindergarten to eighth grade. During this time, he started to develop interests in filmmaking by watching the behind the scenes extras on many of his personal dvd's. Soon, he was given an old Sony Camcorder and he started to film videos to upload on the internet.[1][2]

Early Filmmaking Career

Devin Leary started with the interest of Animation creating many shorts and placing top prizes in film contests. He soon realized that animation took too long and decided to lean more with filmmaking. In high school, he created content for the entire school by being apart of the School's News. He won first place in many VAC competitions. He decided he fully wanted to do it once he was in high school.[2]

In College, he decided to major into Video Production and Minor in Business Administration from The University of Wisconsin Stout. It was around this time he grew closer to his Uncle, Michael Hamerlind. He started to use his time outside of class to work on his craft and film weddings under MHPHO.[1]

He also travels too NYC to be apart of Photo Plus, a convention for many photographers and Videographers. He's connected with many ambassadors of many major camera companies including Canon, Nikon, and Sony.[1]

Forbes and Inc

Devin Leary helped edit several videos with David Brier and Ahmad Imam that has reached national news. As he helped create the video featuring Shark Tanks, Daymond John and the CFO of Vayner Media, Claude Silver. [3] The Linked In Video reached over 193,000 views.[4] This received national attention being published in Forbes and Inc. His college also wrote an article about his work in it as well. David Brier also put him up as "One of the 24 most amazing people I've met this year face to face."

What the Future Holds

Devin has stated on his website that he will be releasing Hoodies that will have 20% of the proceeds go to a mental health charity. [5] He stated that, "I was in a terrible place mentally before my success started to unfold. I talked to someone whom inspired me online and they told me I must focus up. This got me out of my terrible rut and I just want to do anything I can to help that cause." [5] Also, he states that he's in development to branch his production company out from not just weddings and business, but to short films and dabble into the movie industry. [5]
