Genopole is the first biocluster in France entirely dedicated to biotherapies, research in genetics, genomics, post-genomics, xenobiology and the development of biotechnology industries.[1] It is located in Évry-Courcouronnes.
Genopole has a triple mission:
- Develop a research campus of excellence in genomics and post-genomics, focused on gene therapies, in synergy with the University of Évry Val d'Essonne (UEVE) ;
- Encourage the birth and promote the development of biotechnology companies through appropriate support in the health, environment, agronomy and industry sectors.
- Create a biotechnopark in Évry-Courcouronnes / Corbeil-Essonnes, in conjunction with the research campus.
In 2018, the biocluster brings together in one place 17 academic research laboratories, 87 biotechnology companies, as well as 20 scientific platforms and technical platforms shared around the University of Évry Val d'Essonne,[2] whose scientific fields provide high-level education in life sciences.
