Jimmy Wallace (born June 7, 1954) is an American blues guitarist, musician, and entrepreneur. He is known for his contributions to the blues genre and his association with various bands such as Lynx, The Stratoblasters, Bugs Henderson, Wallace/Stacey, and Wallace & Branch. Wallace grew up in Oak Cliff, Texas, in the same neighborhood as other renowned blues artists of the time, including Stevie Ray Vaughan and Rocky Athas.[1]
Early life and education
Jimmy Wallace was born on June 7, 1954, in Dallas, Texas. Growing up in Oak Cliff, he was surrounded by a vibrant blues scene that influenced his musical development. Inspired by his surroundings, Wallace began playing the guitar at 13[2]
At the young age of 13, Jimmy Wallace achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Carter High School. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at North Texas University.[3]

As the owner of the festival, Wallace has provided a platform for musicians, collectors, and enthusiasts to come together and celebrate the world of guitars.[4]

Gibson "Jimmy Wallace" model Les Paul guitar
In 1982, Gibson recognized Jimmy Wallace's talent and influence by introducing the "Jimmy Wallace" model Les Paul guitar. This collaboration resulted in one of the first signature guitar models ever created, a meticulously crafted instrument that reflected Wallace's preferred specifications and tonal characteristics.
Gibson Announced Collaboration with Wallace
In 2019 Cesar Gueikian, President & CEO of Gibson Brands announced that they had entered into a multi-year collaboration agreement with Jimmy Wallace Guitars, Banker Custom Guitars and Echopark Guitars. Under these collaborative agreements, Gibson will gave these key builders a license to use Gibson trademarks.[6]
Recognition
In 1982, Jimmy Wallace was honored with a place on the prestigious "Texas Tornado List" by Buddy Magazine.
