Nigel Travis is an English businessperson and corporate executive.
Travis has been the CEO of the Dunkin' Brands Group since January 2009. He has served the Board at numerous other corporations, including Papa John's International, and Blockbuster LLC.[2]
History
Travis was born in East London into an entrepreneurial family. His father had several businesses including a twine and rope wholesaling business, and a toy distribution business.[3] When Nigel was eighteen he started working as a disc jockey.
Travis earned his degree in human resources and continued to work in the field for 20 years.[3]
2000s
In 2001 Travis was hired by Blockbuster Inc. as president and Chief Operating Officer, and stayed for 4 years.[4]
In 2005 when he was hired by Papa John's Pizza to serve as their president and CEO.[5]
Dunkin Brands
In 2008 Travis was hired by Dunkin' Brands to lead as their CEO.[6] In 2014, Nigel's compensation doubled compared to $4.3M in 2013.[7] During Travis's time at Dunkin' Brands, the company added 3,300 new Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins shops.[8]
In 2010, Travis stated his vision to continually expand Dunkin' Brand's presence in the Southeastern United States and internationally, including that China was a major focus.[9]
Personal life
Nigel Travis has been a fan of the English football club Leyton Orient F.C. since he was a boy.[10] In June 2017, he led a consortium that took over the club.[11]
