SafeCharge is a global payments technology company [1] that provides omnichannel payment services and fraud prevention solutions. [2] It connects businesses directly to all major payment card schemes including Visa, MasterCard [3] and 150+ different payment methods.

The company counts 340+ employees and has offices in Israel , UK, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Italy, Austria, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Singapore and in the US and expanding to other industries. [4] [5] [6]

History

SafeCharge was co-founded by Teddy Sagi and current CEO, David Avgi in 2006. [7][4][8]

The company began trading on the London Stock Exchange in 2014. [9] At that time, SafeCharge was processing $4.8 billion in annual volume with revenue of $43.18 million.[10] It raised $126 million from public offerings with its IPO pricing which was the second largest IPO.[9][4][11][12][13] The company acquired CreditGuard for $8 million[14] and 3V Transaction Services for $14.5 million for card issuing activities in 2014. In 2016, SafeCharge started processing for EL AL, the Israel’s national airline’s payments. [17][10]

In 2017, SafeCharge announced its expansion to the Asian market via a strategic partnership with 2C2P[18][19] and working with WeChat Pay in London’s Camden market [20][21][22][23] and providing payment technology for marketplaces. [24]

In January 2018, the company was authorised as a payment institution by the UK Financial Conduct Authority.[25][8]
