History
The Kerala Kings (rebranded as Kerala Knights in 2018) were a professional T10 cricket franchise that competed in the first two seasons of the T10 League.[1] Owned by Shafi Ul Mulk (Mulk Healthcare) and Hussain Adam Ali, the team represented the Kerala diaspora in the UAE.[2]
The team made history by winning the inaugural 2017 T10 League title, defeating Punjabi Legends by 8 wickets in the final at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Captain Eoin Morgan led from the front, scoring 63 runs off 21 balls in the final match.[3]
In 2018, the team was rebranded as the Kerala Knights. Despite a star-studded squad featuring Chris Gayle, they failed to defend their title and finished in the group stages. The franchise was eventually replaced as the league transitioned to its Abu Dhabi era.
