Keston David Rubeck (born May 23, 2008) is an American politician who plans to run for Nebraska Legislature District 40 in 2030.
In February 2025, Rubeck started shadowing at the Nebraska State Capitol working his way to plan a run. Shadowing State Senator Barry DeKay and State Senator Dave Murman. In 2026 he was a supporter and volunteer of Former State Senator Lynne Walz who was running against Incumbent Governor Jim Pillen.
Early life and education
Rubeck was born in Wayne, Nebraska and graduated from Creighton High School in 2026. In October of 2024 at age 16 he lost his father. From their he started a political journey wanting to give back and help kids who lost parents younger stating many times during his early campaign trail "We need to make sure our future generation is well taken care of, because they will inherit the nation we leave behind."
Rubeck while in high school was very involved never missing a game or activity hosted by the school. His senior year he was named Student Body President changing the school and trying to make everyone more involved. He was also employed by the Norfolk Daily News Paper for ten years as a Paper Carrier.
Political career
Rubeck was first introduced into politics in 5th grade when he went for a school trip to the Nebraska State Capitol. There he fell in love with government and wanted to get involved with the political world. His first major political step was 2 years later getting a letter and talking to Former President Jimmy Carter on the phone. Jimmy Carter was his favorite President for along time. Until he just didn't have one anymore saying "I need to look deeper into all of our Presidents to figure out which one actually is my favorite."
His next big political jump was the Summer of 2023 he got to meet and talk to Charlie Kirk. They spoke for hours talking about needing to get more younger conservative voices across the state of Nebraska.
Then in February of 2025 he started shadowing and using his voice at the Nebraska State Capitol. Working with State Senator Barry DeKay and interning with him. Rubeck had a sense of meeting with some Senators before a vote trying to convince them to vote for a bill he knew they wouldn't.
In February of 2026 he again interned State Senator Barry DeKay and Dave Murman. [1] LB795 was the major bill of the day introduced by his state senator Barry DeKay the bill was meant to Designate bromazolam as a controlled substance under the Uniform Controlled Substances Act, correct the spelling of certain controlled substances, and enhance penalties for certain controlled substance offenses involving fentanyl.
Rubeck since then has been campaigning around the state for Former State Senator Lynne Walz who's currently running for Governor of Nebraska and Mark Cohen former U.S. Air Force Attorney who's currently running for Nebraska's 3rd congressional district.
