Kevin Andrew L. Tan is a Chinese-Filipino businessman and investor with interest in different industries including real estate, liquor and fast food. In 2018, he succeeded as the Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Global Group Inc.- a holding company with interests in food and beverage, real estate development, and fast food restaurant businesses.[1][2][3]

Early Life[edit]

He took up a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Major in Management at the University of Asia and the Pacific.

Career[edit]

After graduating from college, Kevin Tan started his career as a sales agent in their family business in the early 2000s. His main job is to build and manage Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, a commercial division of real estate company, Megaworld. He eventually gained almost two decades of experience in retail leasing, marketing, and operations.[4][5][6]

In 2016, he served as an executive director in Alliance Global Group. Two years later, Kevin Tan was appointed as the new chief executive officer of the said company. At the age of 38, he was the youngest CEO of a major Philippine business conglomerate. He is also the treasurer of Megaworld Foundation, Inc.[7][8][9][2]


Under his leadership, the company launched 17 lifestyle malls in different parts of the country. Aside from that, he also led the master-planning of Megaworld’s 26 townships and mix-use communities in the Philippines.[10][11][12]


He is also an investor in Boozy.ph, an e-commerce company of liquor and spirits in the Philippines, and GoodWork.ph, a service provider app in the same country. In 2020, he also led the launching of AGILE Digital Ventures, the company behind PICK.A.ROO.[13]

Aside from being the CEO, he also holds directorship to other AGI companies including Emperador, Inc., Empire East Land Holdings, Inc. (EELHI), Global-Estate Resorts, Inc. (GERI), Alliance Global Brands, Inc., Anglo Watsons Glass, Inc., Consolidated Distillers of the Far East, Inc., Megaworld Central Properties, Inc., Megaworld Land, Inc., and Megaworld Foundation, Inc. to name a few. He is also the holder of the master franchise of McDonald’s Philippines, Resorts World Manila, and Megaworld Corporation.[14][2][3]

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls[edit]

Kevin Tan has managed Megaworld Lifestyle Malls’ since 2001. This includes Eastwood Citywalk, Eastwood Malls, Uptown Mall, Lucky Chinatown, Newport Mall, Festive Walk Iloilo, Southwoods Malls, McKinley Hill Venice Grand Canal Mall. Moreover, community malls including Forbes Town, Mactan Alfresco, The Village Square Alabang, The Clubhouse at Temple Drive, California Garden Square, San Lorenzo Place, Paseo Center, Three Central, and Twin Lakes are also under his leadership.[15][16][17]


These lifestyle properties and commercial properties have greatly contributed to Megaworld’s rental and recurring income business.


Megaworld Lifestyle Malls also won several industry awards including “Shopping Center of the Year” for some lifestyle malls including Eastwood Mall, Lucky Chinatown, and Newport Mall. Uptown Mall, another development under this company was also awarded the “Best Retail Architectural Design” and “Best Retail Landscape Architectural Design” at the Philippines Property Awards in 2017. During this event, the company was also awarded as the “Best Developer” for two consecutive years.[18][19][20][21]


In 2019, Philippine Retailers Association awarded Uptown Mall as the “Shopping Center of the Year''. At the same year, Kevin Tan led the major launching of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls’ new logo and the announcement of its expansion plan for the next 3 years which is to expand in 8 more areas across the country.[22][23][24][25][26][27][28]

Megaworld Corporation[edit]

He is the Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Megaworld Corporation.

The company focuses on developing lands for office spaces with 26 townships as of 2020.[29] Some of the townships under this corporation are Eastwood City in Quezon City, McKinley Hill in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig, Alabang West in Las Piñas City and Newport City in Pasay City.

Emperador[edit]

Kevin Tan is also the Executive Director of Emperador Distillers Inc., the company behind the best-selling brandy, Emperador Light, in which retailed 400 millions of bottles throughout Asia in 2013.[30][31]

Infracorp[edit]

Kevin Tan also invested in infrastructure whereas he formed the company Infracorp Development, Inc.

This Skytrain project aimed to link Metro Rail Transit Line 3’s Guadalupe station to Megaworld’s Uptown Bonifacio township in Taguig City. It is set to start its operations by 2021.[32][33][34]

  • In 2019, he was recognized as “Entrepreneur of the Year” at Asia Leaders Awards and at the 71st George Washington Charity Ball.[36]
  • Kevin Tan was recognized as “The Next Tycoon” by Esquire Magazine.[37]
  • He was recognized by the Philippine Tatler as part of the 400 List for his contribution to the food & drink, real estate & hospitality, and retail categories.[5]

Personal Life[edit]

Kevin Andrew Tan is the eldest son of tycoon and billionaire Andrew Tan[38][39] and businesswoman Katherine L. Tan..[40] [41]

He married Michelle See in Singapore.[42] They have two children. Currently, they are living in Manila, Philippines.[43][5]
