Kevin Price (born December 18, 1961) is a radio host in Houston, Texas.

Biography[edit]

Early life[edit]

Kevin Price was born on December 18, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in the small suburb of Ferndale, Michigan until the age of 13 when he and his family left for the state for Texas. This was due to the continued decline of the Detroit economy and because others in his family had moved to Texas. He lived in the small town of Abilene and attended public schools there. Later, he went on to attend Abilene Christian University where he graduated with a B.A degree with an emphasis in economic history. He is the recipient of the Outstanding Young Men of America award.[citation needed] He is a multi-award winning journalist, twice receiving the prestigious George Washington Honor Medal in communications from the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge.[citation needed]

Career[edit]

He went on to Washington, DC where he worked in public policy and political consulting and eventually found himself back in Texas.

He hosts the Price of Business Show which was launched on CBS 650,[1] is an author of several books, including Empowerment to the People, which was published by the Free Congress Foundation,[2] a prominent conservative public policy institution. He was the publisher of the Houston Business Review and has a blog called Business Plus (blog)|Business Plus. That blog, like his radio show, tends to have a Conservative/Libertarian bent. He tends to differ with libertarians on cultural and social issues. In addition, Mr. Price is a Principal of HoustonBusiness.com and the President of the Houston Business Media Group.

In August 2011, The Price of Business moved to Bloomberg and Salem affiliated 1070 AM KNTH in Houston in the evenings after 10 years of being affiliated with CBS. Shortly after going to KNTH, he moved to Houston's only business station, 1110 AM for morning drive time.[3] This is Bloomberg's home in Houston, In addition, Price launched a national news site in 2011 called US Daily Review.[4] It has, among its "values," the providing of an "outside the beltway" perspective on national stories and is eclectic in its topics with sections covering political news, lifestyle, technology, sports, and all. The site has a conservative/libertarian leaning, like its founder, but Price states that its first goal is to provide excellent content.

He is a syndicated columnist for American Daily Review, Renew America, and Blogburst. His columns appear regularly at USAToday.com, ChicagoSunTimes.com, and in many other national media. He has been a frequent guest on the popular FoxNews.com program, Strategy Room, as well as on Fox Business.[5]

He has traveled around the world talking about free market economics. Following the fall of Communism in the early 1990s, Kevin conducted seminars and did consulting in Poland, Hungary, and the former Soviet Union on how to make the transition to a market economy.[6] His speech, "Free Enterprise: Eastern Europe's Future" was published in the prestigious Vital Speeches of the Day.[7]
