Background[edit]

Kevin the Carrot rose to fame as the undisputed star of the much-loved Aldi Christmas TV campaign and in doing so became a poster boy for root veg everywhere. Plucked from the obscurity of a dirt-poor background, it was a dramatic rise for this humble son of the soil. Little is known of his family's roots but there is a suggestion that his great grandparents were Swedes. However, that remains unverified.

Kevin made an unlikely action hero when he ended up tied to the antlers of one of Santa's reindeer in his first appearance for Aldi back in 2016. Here, Kevin's "Oh grate" catchphrase was born. The following year, love interest Katie was introduced when Kevin saved her from a fate worse than carrot and coriander soup, aboard a snow bound Orient Express.

Relationships[edit]

Kevin and the radishingly beautiful Katie would go on to have three of their own little carrots: Jasper Chantenay and Baby. And what a lovely bunch they are.

Career[edit]

Kevin's career continued to flourish in 2018 when he was more than a match for evil French parsnip Pascal. In 2019, he was involved in an epic tussle with Russell Sprout from The Leafy Blinders, who claimed that carrots had stolen 'Christmas', an occasion that they see as traditionally theirs.

The denouement saw Russell fired out of a circus cannon as Kevin sang his own version of Robbie Williams' 'Let me entertain you'. Finally, Christmas 2020 saw an homage to Top Gun like no other. He was ejected while on a flying mission over the snowy wastes and almost became frozen veg. Luckily, he was rescued by a hedgehog called Harry before Santa himself, aka Jim Broadbent and Colm Meaney, gave him a lift home on a flying bicycle just in time for Christmas.

Personal life[edit]

Kevin's current whereabouts are unknown. Although some say that life in the limelight has become a little too much for him and he has gone to ground to find some much-needed peas of mind.
