Kevin Wilkins (born 1991) is an American football coach who is the assistant linebackers coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL). He previously worked with Michigan, the New York Giants, and the Baltimore Ravens.
Early life and education
Wilkins is a native of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and a graduate of La Salle College High School. He attended the University of South Carolina, where he earned a degree in business management while serving as a video assistant under head coach Steve Spurrier.
Coaching career
Early career and Baltimore Ravens
Wilkins began his NFL career as a video intern with the Baltimore Ravens in 2015. He was promoted to video operations coordinator from 2017 to 2020, working closely on special projects for the coaching staff. In 2021, he was named a defensive assistant under defensive coordinator Wink Martindale. That season, the Ravens led the league in total defense.[1]
New York Giants
Following Martindale to the New York Giants in 2022, Wilkins worked as a defensive assistant for two seasons. In 2023, the Giants led the NFL in takeaways (31) and recorded 18 interceptions, the team’s most since 2012.
Michigan Wolverines
In 2024, Wilkins joined the University of Michigan football staff as a defensive analyst working with outside linebackers. The Wolverines’ defense ranked fifth nationally in rushing yards allowed (90.7 ypg), while edge rusher Josaiah Stewart recorded 8.5 sacks and was the second-highest graded edge defender in college football.[2]
Wilkins helped guide Michigan to a win over rival Ohio State, holding them to just 10 points in Columbus.
Jacksonville Jaguars
On February 10, 2025, Wilkins was hired as the assistant linebackers coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars under head coach Liam Coen. His hire was influenced by his longstanding mentorship with defensive coordinator Wink Martindale, dating back to their time together in Baltimore and New York.[3]
Personal life
Wilkins’ older brother, Drew Wilkins, is also an NFL coach and serves as the pass rush coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams.
