Kick is an American video live streaming service that focuses on gambling, and video game live streaming. Kick is owned by Tyler Niknam, better known as Trainwreckstv (or simply Trainwreck) online, and casino service Stake.[1]
In December 2022, streamer Trainwrecks announced the platform's release. Kick was released as a competitor and alternative to Twitch and YouTube after Twitch banned gambling content.[2] As of January 2023, the platform had over one million registered users, and over 200,000 accounts registered in the first 24 hours of the platform's release. [3][4]
In October 2022, streamer Trainwrecks announced the platform's release, with its Stake sponsorship starting shortly after. Since the release of the platform in December 2022, it has gained one million active registered accounts. The platform gained more attention after It signed a streamer from its main competitor, Twitch—Adin Ross.[3][5] Kick has also attracted celebrities such as Drake, who streamed on the platform in December 2022.[6] The platform's mobile application was released on March 26, 2023.[7]
