Kiliztli is a Mexican animated short film made by Yxtopia studios. The premiere date is November 2, 2022, nationwide.
The story takes place in the month of October in Cortázar, a little town of Guanajuato in México. It is Día de Muertos eve and Maximo has just turned 18 and is about to go to University. The Sorní González family was having their dinner when Aunt Lupita called to Maximo's Father, a lovely call for greetings turned into a horrific scene that took the Sorní González family to go as fast as they could with Aunt Lupita. That trip started normally... but in the end takes Maximo with 'Cutli' and with his family in the Underworld, Mictlán... Can he save his own life from this apparently nightmare?
This is an original story written by Vanessa 'GoHi' and directed by Onami Tule. Behind this production is Matthew Monelli, Ricardo Arnaiz and Omar Mustre worked on the script treatment, as well as the original soundtrack of the short film by Leoncio Lara Bon.
