Aimilios Protopapas (born March 30, 1984), better known by his stage name "Kill Emil"[1] is a Greek hip hop beatmaker, producer, and DJ. His music style is a chopped-up set of hip hop beats and electronically produced experiments laced with influences from all over the world.
Biography
Aimilios Protopapas was born in Brazil on 30 March 1984, to a Greek father and a Brazilian mother. At the age of two, he moved with his family to Greece. He discovered his passion for music at the age of ten when he started learning how to play the guitar.
In 2010, Kill Emil co-founded his own independent record label, Beatquick, where he started experimenting with chopping up breaks on an Akai MPC. He released his first debut album "The Corner" in June 2011, his second album "Risky Business" in October 2012, as well as his third album "Lights & Shadows" in June 2014. In the meantime, he was also performing as a member of Pad Trio.[2]
In 2015, Kill Emil signed with the label Cold Busted and released his fourth album "Salvation". Its twelve tracks introduce dense soundscapes and clever samples over rough, funky rhythms, providing fuel for the DJs and head-nodders alike. Two years after releasing his fourth album, Protopapas signed with the Postpartum label, moved to Germany[3], and released his fifth album "Ghost Diary" in May 2018.[4]
In addition to his regular album releases all these years, he has also produced several singles and EPs with Afro, Cumbia, and Latin tunes[5], as well as a reggae and hip hop album "A Better Place", which dropped in December 2017.
His appearances in many festivals and gigs around Europe gave him the reputation he needed, while his tracks are on several compilations and programs on radio and TV.[6], [7] He has also made remixes for well-known artists such as Ancient Astronauts, L'Entourloop, Cayetano, and Frenic.

Kill Emil is known for his DJ sets in which he combines hip hop with Latin and funky grooves.
