As of 2025, they currently compete within the Meath Junior 'B' Football Championship.

History

Kilmainhamwood GFC was founded in 1936. They won their first Intermediate Football Championship in 1965, defeating Duleek in the final 1-06 to 1-04 in the final. They would however only stay within the Senior division for 3 years, getting relegated in 1968[1].

Kilmainhamwood would remain within the Intermediate football championship until 1982 when they defeated Martry Harps 1-05 to 0-07 in the final. This meant Kilmainhamwood would return to the Senior Football Championship. They would stay in the Senior division for another 3 years, getting relegated in 1985.

In 1993, Kilmainhamwood reached the Intermediate final facing Carnaross, losing 1-08 to 0-10.[2] This wouldn’t hold Kilmainhamwood back however, and they proceeded to win the Intermediate football championship the next year, defeating Simonstown Gaels 2-11 to 1-08.

In 1995 they would reach the Senior Football Championship final, playing against Dunderry. They lost this final 1-11 to 0-10.[3]

In 1996, Kilmainhamwood began their campaign with a 3-12 to 2-07 defeat to Seneschalstown. Kilmainhamwood quickly responded however, with 3-09 to 1-09 victory against Gaeil Colmcille, a 1-13 to 0-14 victory over Navan O'Mahonys, and a historic win over St. Colmcille's with a 10-19 to 1-05 win, the largest victory in Meath Senior Football Championship history. They ended their group stage with a win against Summerhill 0-15 to 1-11, placing them 2nd in their group behind Seneschalstown. The knock-out stage began with a repeat of the previous years senior final. Kilmainhamwood got the better of Dunderry this time around with a 2-09 to 2-08 victory. They then brushed Moynalvey aside 3-14 to 1-04 in the semi-final. Kilmainhamwood would finally gain their hands on the Keegan Cup for the only time in their history when they defeated Seneschalstown 2-12 to 1-06 in the final.[4] Kilmainhamwood would go on to win the Feis Cup the same year.[5]

Within their 14 year tenure in the Senior Football Championship, Kilmainhamwood would reach the final in 2000, losing to Dunshaughlin 1-19 to 2-06.[6]

Kilmainhamwood were relegated from the Meath Senior Football Championship in 2008 after losing in the relegation play-off final to Rathkenny 2-12 to 0-03[7]. They would only stay within the Meath Intermediate Football Championship for one season, being relegated in 2010 to the Junior ‘A’ Football Championship after losing to Clann na nGael 1-16 to 1-08[8]. As of 2025, Kilmainhamwood currently play within the Meath Junior 'B' Championship.
