Kim Michael, also known as "Kimpoy Brews", his artist name, is a Filipino independent singer, songwriter, and soul music lover. He has recorded a five-song single and more than ten songs not yet released, and will soon release his most anticipated first album titled "Medication" this coming year. He is from Dasmariñas, Cavite, in the Philippines.[1]
Biography
Kim Michael, known as Kimpoy Brews, was born in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines on May 7, 1994. He was the youngest of his siblings and the only one with a passion for singing in his family. From a young age, he showed potential and knowledge of using guitar-like instruments. Kimpoy has lived in Dasmariñas, Cavite from 1997 to the present.[2][1]
Career
Kim Michael recently took a course in Food and Beverage Services at Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA) in Metro Manila to pursue his dreams of getting a job abroad in the cruise line industry, in addition to becoming a successful singer and songwriter.
In late 2019, Kim Michael decided to write a song. Because of his passion and determination, Kimpoy Brews wrote more than ten songs before the end of 2019, and he released his first single album titled "After (Ferris Wheel)", produced by Jpynfrnds Records under Jeffrey Salinas and Louie Manacho.
His musical obsessions and songwriting inspiration came from his favorite artists like TJ Monterde, Daniel Caesar, John Mayer, and Gabe Bondoc. His musical style was inspired by these artists. He has support from a record label and family in the music industry: “Jpynfrnds Records” and “Katipunan Studio” (now “Three Ropes Studio”). He released a song using his own mixing and mastering skills, learning from a YouTube mixer and producer called “J. Caleb” and their beats. His new single was produced by “Beats by Con”.[3]
Hobbies
Kimpoy's hobbies include sports; he is a cycling enthusiast and loves to ride his bike. He owns two bikes: a mountain bike and a road bike. He is also a basketball lover, starting to play at age 11, his father introducing him to the sport. He has been playing guitar since he was 9 years old.
