Kinabase
Kinabase is a British business management software platform developed by Cambridge Kinetics, a technology company based in Cambridge, England. The software integrates customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), and business intelligence functions into a unified system.[1]
History
Cambridge Kinetics was founded in 2021 by Jason Mashinchi,[2] a graduate in Industrial Systems, Manufacturing and Management from the University of Cambridge.[3] In tackling the inefficiencies businesses faced, the company created Kinabase, now it's flagship product.[4]
In 2024, Cambridge Kinetics received funding from Innovate UK's BridgeAI grant program to support the enhancement of Kinabase's AI capabilities and improve productivity in creative industries.[5]
Following being awarded this funding, Made in Britain CEO John Pearce lauded Cambridge Kinetics for exemplifying the innovation and excellence of British technology companies, noting that its work "highlights the vital role UK manufacturers are playing in driving development and advancing AI technologies across a wide range of sectors".[6]
Capabilities
Kinabase is an AI-powered platform that provides small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with middle ground between rigid one-size-fits-all tools and sprawling spreadsheets.[7] The platform includes CRM features for sales and marketing, and ERP-like capabilities for handling projects, resources, and operations.[8] The system is flexible, which allows SMEs to tailor the software to their specific needs.[9]
These capabilities are intended to reduce manual effort and ensure giving "the right information to the right people, at the right times", as Mashinchi noted when describing Kinabase's value for business.[10]
Recognition
The company and the founder have received several business awards, including recognition at the SME National Business Awards 2024 and the Cambridge Independent Science and Technology Awards 2025.[11][12] Cambridge-based publications such as Business Weekly and Cambridge Independent have profiled Kinabase for its software innovation and regional impact within the technology.
