Kinavalli is a 2018 bilingual (Malayalam and Tamil language) fantasy-horror film directed by Sugeeth and written by Syam Seethal and Vishnu Ramachandran. It is produced by Maneesh Thomas under the banner of Kannamthanam Films. The film stars six newcomers in the lead and would be the director's first film with no notable stars in the lead.

Not only is the lead cast new, the film's technical crew also comprise of fresh talents; the camera is helmed by newbie Vivek Menon while the music composer, Shashwath Sunil Kumar, is also a first timer in films.

In an interview with Deccan Chronicle, on being asked why he chose to work with newcomers in the film, the director said “Newcomers should also be encouraged, right?” He asks, before continuing, “A film is not only about the profits that can be made. It is also about giving opportunities to newcomers when everything falls into place, which happened in my case. The story of Kinavalli took shape when a large group of us were sitting together and swapping tales. And this story called for fresh faces, which too fell into place.”

The first look of the film was launched on Valentines day by actress and RJ Nyla Usha along with the film's cast and crew on Hit 96.7FM, one of the leading Malayalam radio stations in the UAE.
