Kind Turkey Records is an American independent record label based in Madison, WI.[1] It was first started on January 1, 2010 by Bobby Hussy as a music blog.[2] Their first release, a split cassette by Black Mamba Beat and Wake Up Dead came in Fall 2010. It was followed by Kind Turkey's first vinyl release - a 7" single by Ohio's Wheels On Fire.[3] Wheels On Fire have previously released records with Fat Possum Records. In February 2011 Kind Turkey released Kerry Davis' 4th solo 7" under the Two Tears name entitled "Eat People".[4] Kerry is a notable American musician most known for her work in Red Aunts, The Screws, and Beehive and the Barracudas. The Pharmacy's 4 track EP 7" entitled Dig Your Grave was released in late 2011 alongside the debut 7" by Madison, Wisconsin's The Lonesome Savages (the side project of Dead Luke and Max Elliott).[5] In 2016 the label released a limited edition cassette box set featuring 5 different eras of live performances from The Hussy spanning their entire career. The label has also recently released cassettes by Digital Leather, Proud Parents, Cave Curse (Bobby Hussy's solo synth band) and Blaha (side project of Mike Blaha of The Blind Shake.
