University of Kindia (UK), also known as Université de Kindia is a university in Kindia, Guinea.[2]
Organisation[edit]
The University of Kindia (UK) is a scientific, pedagogical, technical and professional public university, run under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (Guinea). It was created by the ministerial law N°6303/MESRS/CAB/ of 21/10/2016 applying the decree N°0888/PRG/SGG/90 of April 14 1990. The school has its origins in a fruit research station founded in 1947 by French colonialists as part of the lnstitut Français des Fruits et Agrumes Coloniaux (IFAC). Following Guinean independence from France, the institute became l'lnstitut de Recherche Fruitière (I.R.F) and was placed under the charge of the Guinean ministry of Rural Economy and Craftmanship. From 1961 to 1978, following the transfer of the Ecole Nationale d'Agriculture (E.N.A) to Faraniah, it became the Department of Agronomy. Again, in 1983 the school became an independent entity, the Centre de Recherche Agronomique, of Foulaya, and was jointly placed under the charge of the ministry of Agricultre and the ministry of National Education.[3]

The University of Kindia has four faculties :
- Faculty of Languages and Literature,
- Faculty of Social Sciences,
- Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management
- Faculty of sciences.[3]
