King Chris
King Chris (born Christopher Eric Smith, February 12th, 1990, Howell, New Jersey) is a professional dancer, choreographer and creative director.
Early Life[edit]
Christopher began his official training in dance at the age of 16. Despite his late start Christopher grew up in a household full the dancers as his grandma, aunt and sister were all dancers, therefore dance has always been a prominent part of Christopher’s life. Christopher began his training at Freehold Performing Art Center where he studied acting and musical theatre. During his teenage years he also studied under Susan Jaffe (former principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre) at the Princeton Dance Centre. After finishing high school, Christopher went to the University Of The Arts in Philadelphia on a full scholarship. He majored in Dance with his main focus being ballet, modern and jazz. While attending university he also trained at the prestigious The Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia, where he was also granted a full scholarship to study classical ballet.
Career[edit]
While in Philadelphia, Christopher had the opportunity to dance with the Smoke, Lilies, and Jade Arts Initiative and Pennsylvania Ballet. Shortly after, Christopher moved to New York to further his career. He quickly began dancing in movies, TV Commercials and theatre. He later moved to Los Angeles where he continued to dance with various artists. In his most recent years, Christopher moved into the role of a choreographer and creative director. He joined Laurieann Gibson's team as an assistant choreographer and made his debut on the hit TV show “Beyond The Spotlight”. He is very passionate about artist development and has worked with many up and coming artists.
