[[|thumb| Kingsley strolling through the set ]] Kingsley Egei (born c. 1988) is an American actor,[1] producer, entrepreneur, and American rapper known professionally as SXTWLVE.[2] He is best known for the Web series Real Husbands of Bethesda[3] in which he holds writer, producer, and director credits. He is also known for founding the fitness lifestyle brand Sovicious[4] and the viral article "Sorry Massy Arias But I Hate When Trainers Charge For 30 Day Challenges."[5]

Early life

Kingsley Egei was born and raised in Houston's suburb of Missouri City, TX. Soon after his father passed, his mother and three siblings moved to Takoma Park, Maryland. After a short stint in Takoma Park, his family moved back and forth throughout Montgomery County, Maryland. His family never really had much, so he often would steal food at the local grocery store to provide for him and his family. At age 14, Kingsley applied for his first job at McDonald's. He got the job, but only after lying to the manager that he was 16. The legal age to work in Maryland. Two weeks later, he was fired once they found out his actual age.

Kingsley loved to play basketball. He was the go-to guy for the Damascus[6] Hornets in the 2005–07 school year, leading the county in dunks made in a season. He participated in three All-Star games and made the Washington Post All-Gazette roster.[7] After a few years of high school basketball and only a few offers to play college ball, Kingsley ended up quitting before ever stepping foot at the local JUCO college, Montgomery College[8]

Fatherless, broke, and still in love with basketball, Kingsley tried out for a few D-League[9] teams before he eventually gave up. He decided to finish college, graduating from the home state school, University of Maryland, with a degree in Agricultural Resources and Economics and a minor in Agribusiness.

Soon after graduating college and finding a 9-to-5 job, Kingsley became discontent with where he was in life. The only thing that could keep him happy was music. He began teaching himself FL Studio and engineering trap beats that were eclectic and unusual. These beats eventually became the stepping stone to his rap career as SXTWLVE (pronounced Six-twelve).

Career

In 2017, Kingsley's debut directing role came from the critically acclaimed web series Real Husbands of Bethesda in which he held the title as producer and actor. In the same year, he played a minor supporting role in Matthew Porterfield's film[10], Soller's Point.[11] According to his Instagram[12], he is currently working on a debut mixtape called Livet.
