Kinoshita Komuten
Overview
- Mainly operates in the Kanto region, designing and constructing custom homes. Originally limited to Kanto, now expanded into Miyagi.
- Focuses on houses built with timber frame and 2x4 methods, and manages design and construction directly without subcontractors.
- During the late 1980s to early 1990s, developed condominiums under the brand "View Palace."
- In April 2002, Seritage Capital Management evaluated and bought back approximately 50 billion yen of non-performing loans from Asahi Bank, aiming for management reconstruction under Seritage. The plan failed, and in 2004, profitable segments such as custom homes were transferred to the subsidiary Kinoshita Komuten Housing Sales, which was then renamed and restructured multiple times. The unprofitable parts remaining in the original Kinoshita Komuten were renamed Primula, which dissolved in September of that year.
