Early Life[edit]
Kip Lewis has been a successful Austin-area real estate entrepreneur since 1992, when he established Lewis Investments with a modest nest egg of $2,000. Although just 27 years of age at the time, this Texas State University McCoy College of Business graduate made his first property investment an exceptional one.
Career[edit]
Kip Lewis acquired a 35-acre RV/mobile home community in the La Frontera development area of the northern Austin suburb Round Rock. He would go on to own this property for decades, ultimately growing it into the 60-acre multi-use complex that it is today.
While operating and developing his expansive RV/mobile home community, Kip Lewis launched other real estate ventures throughout Central Texas. These ventures included two new communities in Pflugerville and Georgetown, which had a combined total of 650 individual property sites between them. Lewis sold both of these assets to the largest mobile home real investment trust in the nation upon their completion.
In addition to his success in the residential sector, Kip Lewis developed an exceptional reputation in the commercial real estate sector. As a restaurateur, he owned and operated the Round Rock fine dining establishment Main Street Grill for nearly two decades.
Kip Lewis has also played a key role in the structural revitalization efforts of historic downtown Round Rock. After purchasing a new home office on Main Street in downtown Round Rock in 1997, he became deeply involved in historical restoration efforts in the area, ultimately becoming president of the Downtown Business Owners Association. Comprised of business owners, architects, engineers, and other concerned professionals, this group laid the foundation for the ongoing City of Round Rock revitalization project. Over the years, Kip Lewis has purchased and remodeled approximately 45,000 square feet of historic Round Rock building space.
Under Kip Lewis’ leadership, Lewis Investments recently announced a 2021 refinancing transaction with a total value of $17 million through the top professional services firm and Fortune 500 company JLL. Encompassing three core assets and drawing funding from Fannie Mae, this refinance allowed Lewis Investments to take advantage of a T Bill that had reached a historic 10-year low. Praising JLL’s “ability to search the market for alternative sources," Kip Lewis remarked that "what was initially perceived as unfortunate timing turned out to be good fortune!”
