Knuckle Cracker is a PC video game developer located in the United States. It is primarily known for its self-published game series Creeper World.

History

Prior to starting Knuckle Cracker, the sole developer first operated under the name Whiteboard War[1], and around 2008 released their first public game WhiteboardWar: ChopRaider through hundreds of web game portals at the time: notably Bubblebox, Kongregate, Armor Games, AddictingGames.[citation needed][original research?]

Knuckle Cracker was later founded in 2009.[2] The first project under this label was Creeper World released in late 2009.[citation needed] A promotional web game was released alongside the game, Creeper World Training Sim.[citation needed] In May 2010, the developer wrote on their blog about the game's continued success, attributing it to the popularity of the web game as well as the volume of custom player content made for Creeper World.[3][non-primary source needed] The game was also featured on IGN's Indie Pick of the Week.[4][clarification needed]

On 14 May 2011, Creeper World 2: Redemption was released for digital distribution.[non-primary source needed]

In 2014, Creeper World 3: Arc Eternal passed the Steam Greenlight process.[non-primary source needed] It was officially released on March 27, 2014 through the developer's website and Steam. Two months later, Creeper World 3: Abraxis was released as a promotional game. Creeper World 3: Arc Eternal has seen a significant amount of attention and praise for its innovative gameplay and not often seen before approach to custom content, featuring a built-in fully fledged scripting language allowing players to truly stretch the limits of the game.[5][additional citation(s) needed]

On September 29, 2016, a spin-off game in the Creeper World series, Particle Fleet: Emergence, was released. The game was set in the same universe as Creeper World, but featured a different type of enemy.[citation needed]

A new game is in the making, currently known to the public as Creeper World 4.[citation needed]
