The island of Ko Jum is situated in Krabi, on Thailand's west coast. It is close to the Andaman Sea and 681 kilometers from Bangkok. Local communities have lived on this island for a very long time. Three villages—Ko Pu Village, Ko Jum Village, and Ting Sai Village—make up the island. A quiet, tranquil town called Ko Jum is home to hospitable locals.

In the Chao Ley language, "Ko Jum" is known as "Pulau Krajab." Pulau means island, and Kajab means tree because this island used to be densely forested.
