Koinonia of West Georgia, commonly referred to simply as Koinonia or Koinonia Accredited Center for Independent Studies, was a private, non-denominational Christian, accredited center for independent studies located on the Carrollton-Villa Rica border in the U.S. state of Georgia. It was founded in 1997 originally as a school for high school students, but over the years evolved into a K-12 format school. In contrast to most private schools — or public schools for that matter — Koinonia only had classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, leaving Mondays and Fridays free. However, this does not mean that students coming out of Koinonia struggle with their schoolwork; on the contrary, some of them succeeded in different areas in which other students from "traditional" schools have struggled.

Location[edit]

Over the years, Koinonia occupied multiple locations across West Georgia, including towns such as Douglasville to Carrollton before eventually coming to Villa Rica. The school last occupied what was formerly known as the Plantation Christian Academy. Koinonia officially purchased the property in 2013, and the location became the school's final home.
