@Styyx: Obviously I have not looked at all the HDN stories and I don't know how they sort the search results but ‘Natural gas’ lobby behind dismissal of coal plant on olive groove, head of firm claims - Latest News is an example of one in which the whole story is about them. Although very short Erdoğan'dan Kolin için 'acele kamulaştırma' which I just added is completely about them too. I have removed some cites as you suggested and now there are no adjacent cites. As I have made a few more small changes could you possibly take another look if you have time. Chidgk1 (talk) 12:54, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
Hürriyet Daily News is a reliable source and I have added a link to show that they list over 100 stories mentioning at least one of the companies. As you can see from the article now I have expanded it this is a large conglomerate. Many of the projects it has worked on already have English Wikipedia articles and are significant parts of the infrastructure of the country. Cumhuriyet is also a very well known and reliable source. As far as I can tell (some websites are blocked from here in Turkey) the allegation in Cumhuriyet is significant. Chidgk1 (talk) 10:28, 3 January 2022 (UTC)

Koloğlu Holding (formerly the Kolin group of companies and sometimes referred to as Kolin Holding) is a conglomerate headquartered in Turkey with many subsidiaries, affiliates and joint ventures[1] including companies in ports,[2] mining,[3] roads,[4] construction[5] and energy.[6] According to Engineering News Record Kolin was one of the top 250 global contractors in 2021.[7] Celal Koloğlu is on the board of the Turkish Employers' Association of Construction Industries,[8] and has been president.[9]

Activities[edit]

Energy[edit]

Koloğlu owns Soma Kolin power station,[10] and is part of the consortium constructing Akkuyu Nuclear Plant.[11] In 2022 President Erdoğan authorised the urgent expropriation of land for Soma Kolin.[12] A subsidiary makes inverters for solar power in Turkey and abroad.[13] Koloğlu has constructed storage for gas in Turkey, such storage is important for the country’s energy security.[14]

Transport[edit]

At Sefine shipyard an electric ferry was built and a ferry powered by liquefied natural gas is being built - both for export.[15] In 2019 Kolin Construction sold its share in Istanbul Airport to Kalyon Group.[16] In 2021 it won a tender from Turkish State Railways.[17]

Finance[edit]

In 2020 Koloğlu paid 55 million lira (about 6 million dollars) in corporation tax.[18] Along with 4 other companies it was alleged to have been unfairly favoured with Turkish government contracts.[19] Opposition Republican People's Party leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said in 2022 that the five companies had been awarded over 200 billion dollars worth of contracts during Justice and Development Party governments, and that some of their money was held in tax havens related to the United Kingdom.[20]
