Konstantin Leonidovich Bromberg (Russian: Константин Леонидович Бромберг; 17 October 1939 — 10 January 2020) was a Soviet and Russian film director. He was a laureate of the USSR State Prize (1982). Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation (1996).[1]

Bromberg was born in Kharkiv in the Ukrainian SSR on October 17, 1939. Throughout 1958-59 he worked as a director at the film studio in Vorkuta. At some point, he joined Studio Ekran and released a trilogy of films about Yevgeny Mravinsky, Herbert von Karajan, and Irakly Andronikov.

While he had released a multitude of films, his first big success came in 1980 with the children's film The Adventures of the Elektronic, in which such famous actors as Nikolai Grinko, Nikolai Karachentsov, and Vladimir Basov participated in. He also released the film Charodei (Russian for "wizards, sorcerers") loosely based on a story by the Brothers Strugatsky. This film would take a place among the most popular Soviet New Year films.[2] Bromberg also directed three episodes for the Soviet comedy series Yeralash in 1989.[3]

He was a member of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation.

He died in Detroit on 10 January 2020, at the age of 80.[4][5]
