Koreans in Turkey are a noticeable but small community numbering 2 332 according to the Korean Ministry of Foreign affairs, the majority are concentrated around the biggest cities Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.[5] Cho Yun-soo, Ambassador for the Republic of South Korea in Ankara have also stated that there were roughly 3 000 Koreans residing in Turkey as of 2017[6] with the opportunity to study Korean in selected schools and universities.[7] Turkey, additionally, has experienced influxes of around 130 000 Korean tourists yearly which party contributed to people permanently moving, together with South Korea being Turkey's second biggest trading partner, after China, in East Asia.[8]
