Kosar Buriro (Sindhi: ڪوثر ٻرڙو) is a renowned Sindhi broadcaster, poet, and writer.[1] of Sindh.[2] He was born on 1 September 1958, in the village Jani Buriro, Kot Diji taluka, Khairpur District, Sindh.[3]
Background
His original name is Ghulam Qasim Buriro. He is the son of Akhoond Nabi Bux Buriro,[4] a religious teacher of the village.
Education
He received his primary education in his native village Jani Buriro, matriculation from Khairpur, and an MA from Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur in International relations, achieving a high position in 1982.[5]
Professional career
Kosar Buriro joined the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation as a producer in 1983. He worked as a producer in Karachi,[6] Hyderabad, Larkana, Khairpur[7] and Turbat stations. He was later promoted to Station Director Karachi. He introduced many artists from Sindh, including Sarmad Sindhi and Shazia Khushk.
Literary career
He has written more than 300 articles on Sindhi culture, music, and profiles of Sindhi artists.[8]
