Kosta Riznić (Serbian Cyrillic: Коста Ризнић; Banja, Aranđelovac, Principality of Serbia, 1859 - Belgrade, Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, 15 December 1923) was a well-known Serbian merchant and philanthropist. He was the founding president of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce and of the National Bank's supervisory committee. [1]

After completing his studies, Kosta's father brought him to Belgrade and set him up in business with Mihailo S. Načić. After a certain period, Kosta entered into the trading business with Vojin Radulović with whom he partnered until 1887 when he left Radulović and went with Ilija D. Marić to form the "Marić and Riznić" Manufacturing and Trading House.

He was one of the early founders of Beogradske Trgovačke Omladine (Belgrade Merchant Youth) as well as its tireless worker. In 1881 he was named member of the board of the Belgrade Merchant Youth; in 1882 he became its deputy treasurer and in 1883 he was elected president of the Belgrade Merchant Youth where he remained in that post until 1885. In the capacity as auditor he was a member of the Auditing Committee from 1886 to 1888 and 1893 to 1894.

Kosta Riznić is the initiator and founder of trgovačkoga fonda (Merchants Fund), Hipotekarne banke trgovačkog fonda, and Trgovačka komora (Association of Merchants) and was its first president until 1920 when he was elected honorary president. Kosta Riznić was among the first initiators and founders of Šumadija, the first Serbian group insurance company. He also singlehandedly fought against the unfair business tariffs imposed by the Belgrade City Hall administration in 1891. His speeches in 1910 in the House of Assembly were widely quoted in the press media.

He died in Belgrade on 15 December 1923. He was buried in Novo groblje.
