Along with the young directors, he staged 'Don Pasquale' in 2019, Gian Carlo Menotti's 'Medium' in 2018, and Giacomo Puccini's 'Gianni Scicchi' in 2019, all on the stage of National Musical Academy's Opera Studio.

From 2013, he served as a guest conductor of the Kyiv Opera and the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra. Starovytskyy took part in musical festivals and competitions. Despite his successful music career, Starovytskyi felt compelled to serve his country in the face of Russian aggression.[2] He served as a senior rifleman of the guard company branch of the Brovary district territorial centre and continued to serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces until his death.

At the time of his death, he held the position of senior driver of the engineering company of the 58th Konotop Brigade.

In an official statement, Ukraine's National Academic Brass Orchestra, where Starovytskyy worked as a musician, said,

'Today the orchestra suffered an irreparable loss. Our colleague Kostyantyn Starovytskyy was killed while defending us, defending the entire Ukraine, on the Kramatorsk front.”[3]
