Krishnavanshi Yadav
The term Krishnavanshi denotes their descent from Lord Krishna, all Yadavs equally descend from Krishna and hence are all Krishnavanshi (or Yaduvanshi). Although, the Krishnavanshi social category is at times interchangeable with the Yaduvanshi title (both define a 'Yadav' of higher pedigree and pure descent).[1] The Yaduvanshi Yadavs are the 'real' Ahirs. They are Kshatriyas and valorous soldiers.[2] The Ahirs claim to be real Yaduvanshi (Yadavas), the direct descendants of Lord Krishna.[3]
Mr. Bhattacharya, a distinguished historian, writes in his book "Indian Castes and Tribes", it seems very probable that the Yaduvanshi Kshatriyas were originally Ahirs.[4][5]
