Kristy Holtfreter is a Professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Arizona State University and editor in chief of the journal Feminist Criminology.
Early life and education[edit]
Holtfreter earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Washington before enrolling at Michigan State University for her Master's degree and PhD.[1]
Career[edit]
Upon completing her PhD, Holtfreter became an Assistant professor in the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Florida State University until 2008. From there, she joined the faculty in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Arizona State University.[2] As an associate professor, Holtfreter co-published an article with Xia Wang titled The effects of corporation- and industry-level strain and opportunity on corporate crime, which received the 2013 Outstanding Publication Award from the White Collar Crime Research Consortium.[3] The following year, Holtfreter and her husband Michael D. Reisig were chosen to serve as Technical Review Panelists on the redesign of the National Crime Victimization Survey. She focused on developing measures of fraud victimization and identity theft.[4]
In 2018, Holtfreter was elected editor in chief of the journal Feminist Criminology[5] and received the 2018 American Society of Criminology's Division on Women and Crime Distinguished Scholar Award.[6]

Holtfreter is married to Michael D. Reisig, a fellow Criminal Justice professor.[7]
