Kuš! Comics
Kuš! (pronounced – ‘Koosh!’) is a small comics art publisher and comics anthology from Latvia.[1] It was founded on 7 July 2007 in Riga, Latvia, organized by David Schilter and Sanita Muižniece. [2][3] The comic is supported by the Riga City Council. The first five issues of the anthology were available for free in different restaurants and bars in order to attract attention. Each issue of the magazine *š!* has a specific theme, which changes with each release.
The anthology focuses on experimental comics, featuring Latvian and foreign cartoonists. The publisher also releases single-story 24-page magazines titled Mini kuš!.[2]
Awards
- š!* issue #9 (November 2011) won the Angoulême International Comics Festival category for alternative comics in 2012.[4]
