Kuah Jenhan (柯源汉; born 16 November 1987) is a Malaysian stand-up comedian, writer, and director.
Since 2006, he has performed internationally across Asia and at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for multiple years, where he headlined their inaugural Comedy Zone Asia showcase in 2015.[1] He is best known for Like This, Like Dad, his comedy hour show conceived as a tribute to his late father, which was staged in Australia and Singapore in 2013 before being revived for an international tour in 2025 and 2026.[2][3][4] As a writer and director, he produced and directed M.A.C.C. (2020), a comedy documentary series for Astro Hello, and created What in the Malaysia?, a weekly game show that aired on PRIMEtime in 2021.[5][6]
He is also a co-founder of the Malaysian Association of Chinese Comedians, alongside Douglas Lim, Phoon Chi Ho, and Jason Leong.[7][8]

Jenhan was born on 16 November 1987 in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.[9]
Career
Stand-up comedy
Early career
Jenhan's first stand-up appearance was in 2006 at an open-mic. He then took a hiatus from performing to complete his studies, returning to comedy in 2009.[9]
Malaysian Association of Chinese Comedians
In October 2009, Jenhan co-founded the Malaysian Association of Chinese Comedians with Douglas Lim and Phoon Chi Ho. Jason Leong later joined the group in 2011.[7][8] The group performed annual line-up shows in Kuala Lumpur from 2009 to 2019, ending with their farewell tour MACC Mania X — The Goodbye Tour.[10]
In 2013, Jenhan appeared at the Shout! Awards.[11]
Solo shows
in 2016, Jenhan performed Like This, Like Dad at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, where it received reviews from The Music and Chortle.[12][13] The show was also nominated for Best Comedy at Fringe World Perth that same year.[14]
In 2017, Jenhan staged Perfect Stranger at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival, Perth Comedy Festival, and Darwin Festival, receiving reviews in the Herald Sun and Australian Stage.[14][15][16]
In 2018 and 2019, his show Electric Butterflies was staged at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival, receiving reviews in the Herald Sun and ArtsHub.[17][18]
In 2023, he performed on the Kings & Queens of Comedy Asia 10 showcase at the Esplanade Theater in Singapore.[19]
In 2024, he toured Noted With Thanks at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, across Malaysia, and in Singapore at W!ld Rice's Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre.[20][21][22]
In 2025 & 2026, he toured a rewritten Like This, Like Dad, performing at the Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival, and Fringe World.[23][24][25]
Television
Jenhan was a writer on the NTV7 sitcom Small Mission Enterprise from 2012 to 2014.[26][27]
In 2016, he appeared as a featured comedian in the first season of Comedy Central Stand-Up, Asia!.[28][29]
In 2020, he produced, wrote, and directed M.A.C.C., a comedy documentary series on Astro Hello following the Malaysian Association of Chinese Comedians on their farewell tour.[5][30]
In 2021, Jenhan created What in the Malaysia?, a game show on PRIMEtime.[6]
Theatre
In 2011, Jenhan co-wrote the musical Lat Kampung Boy: Sebuah Muzikal with Harith Iskander, based on the work of Malaysian cartoonist Lat, which ran at the Istana Budaya.[31][32] For his work, he was nominated for Best Original Book and/or Lyrics at the 9th BOH Cameronian Arts Awards in 2012.[33]
In 2023, he performed in Walimaturus – The Wedding Banquet, in the leading role of Mat Chincang.[34] That same year, he also performed in Cafe Night Live! Edisi X, as the role of The Interviewer.[35]
Comedic style
Jenhan is known for long-form storytelling, stating in an Esquire Malaysia interview that "I was taking longer to say something, because I would feel the need to explain how I feel". Chortle described him in a review of his work as "quite the engaging story-teller".[13]
