Kuflink is UK-based peer-to-peer property investment lender and a bridging lender business.[2] The firm pairs individual borrowers together with lenders who grant loans in return for interest.[3]

History[edit]

Alpha Bridging Solutions Ltd was incorporated in December 2011 as a bridging loan provider and joined the Association of Short Term Lenders in early 2016.[4] In May 2016, Alpha Bridging rebranded to Kuflink Bridging and also introduced their new peer-to-peer platform.[4]

In October 2016, the firm became fully authorized by the Financial Conduct Authority to operate in the UK,[5] making it one of the first P2P lenders in the UK to become authorised.[6]

In November 2016, Kuflink moved to its current headquarters in Gravesend, Kent.[7]

In October 2017, Kuflink announced a five-year sponsorship deal with Ebbsfleet United F. C. As part of the agreement, Stonebridge Road stadium is called Kuflink Stadium.[8]

In December 2017, Kuflink announced Narinder Khattoare as the new CEO of the company.[9]

In January 2018, Kuflink joined the Bridging Loan Directory.[10]

In March 2019, Kuflink filed its first set of statutory accounts audited by one of the Big 4 accountancy firms, Ernst and Young LLP, having previously been audited by local firm Leigh Carr.[11]

Kuflink has opened a second office in London’s fintech scene on Old Street.[12]

Business model[edit]

Kuflink is made up of a peer-to-peer platform Kuflink and its sister bridging lender business Kuflink Bridging.[13] It allows investors to invest in short-term property loans secured against UK property[14] to businesses and individuals.[15] Kuflink funds 20 percent of every deal, leaving only 80 percent of each loan to be funded by outside investment.[16] It uses multi-source verification and risk-scoring to perform anti-money laundering checks on individuals.[17]

Kuflink's Innovative Finance Isa can be started with a minimum investment of £100 with a current maximum investment of £20,000.[18] In June 2017, Kuflink launched its Innovative Finance ISA on its P2P platform.[18]
