Kuiertyd is an Afrikaans programming block owned by eMedia Investments which broadcasts on e.tv and eExtra.

In May 2018, eMedia Investments announced plans to launch a second news channel exclusively to their Openview platform since eNCA is exclusive to DStv alongside an Afrikaans block on eExtra later that year.

In October 2018, Kuiertyd launched on eExtra featuring reality, news and telenovelas.[1]

In July 2019, e.tv introduced its first Kuiertyd program being, Die Vreemdeling.[2]

In 2020, the block unveiled a new look.

In 2021, eMedia Investments launched a new streaming service called eVOD with some of Turkish dramas seen on Kuiertyd as well as new ones that haven't aired on the block available on the platform under the section, Afrikaans Premium.[3]

At launch on eExtra, the block had an Afrikaans news bulletin Nuusdag and Nuusdag Perspektief which were discontinued later in the year.

Other offerings on the block include reality series, telenovelas, dramas and movies.

On primetime, the block increased from 2 to 4 hours on eExtra with repeats later surfacing on e.tv
