Kumbhīra

Kumbhīra is a deity identified with Konpira Gongen[1]. He was present at the preaching of the Mahāsamaya Sutta.[2] He is a Ganges crocodile god.[3]
According to legend Konpira Gongen came into existence when a priest at Matsuo Temple summoned the deity.[1]
