Kumron "Master K" Vaitaynon is a Muay Thai instructor and retired Muay Thai fighter. Vaitaynon competed in over 75 fights over his career, and currently teaches out of New Jersey at Master K Elbow KO.[1] He was inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2007.[2]

Born in Prapradang, Thailand, Vaitaynon taught himself Muay Thai from the age of 8, first practicing on improvised heavy bags made of sacks of rice. By middle school, Vaitaynon had become the school Muay Thai tournament champion, and soon began training under his cousin, the Bantamweight champion Singh Ro.So.Po..[3]

With over half of his career knockouts by elbow, Vaitaynon became known as "I Sawk Kwan", or "Mr. Axe Elbow", leading to his motto "elbow k.o.".[3]

Vaitaynon authored the (now out of print) book Muay Thai: The Art of Eight Limbs, published on June 19, 1996.[4] On August 12, 2001, he created Master K Elbow KO, a Web site hosting instructional videos and various information about the sport, his students, and his publications.[5] Vaitaynon was featured in the March 2004 issue of Black Belt magazine, with his article 5 Techniques Every Fighter Needs to Know.[3] In 2008, Vaitaynon released Muay Thai Knockout, a 69-minute DVD teaching essential Muay Thai skills.[6]
