Kuruche is the name given to various nomadic[1] groups related to the hets and moluches of the Argentine Pampas and Patagonia. Precisely, the Araucanized Amerindian groups are called Kuruche from the 16th century to the 19th century when the Mapuche or Araucanians and the Pehuenches expanded from the Andes mountain range to the east, producing the process of Araucanization.
Language[edit]
According to the 19th century Suran chronicle, the Kuruche spoke a language based on Mapudungun called Kurungun[2], unlike other Araucanized cultures, Mapudungun emerged in a new mutually unintelligible language.
