Emmanuel Kwesi Danso Arthur Junior popularly known as Kwesi Arthur (born December 18, 1994) is a Ghanaian hip hop recording artist from Tema, Ghana.[1] He won the hiphop song of the year for the remix of his hit single "Grind day" featuring Sarkodie and Medikal in the 2018 Ghana Music Awards.[2][3] He is part of a musical group or record label called GROUND UP.
Early Life and Education[edit]
Emmanuel Kwesi Danso Arthur Junior was born on December 18, 1994 in Tema, a suburb of Accra. Most of his life has been spent in and around the Tema metropolis.[1] Growing up, Kwesi battled with rickets which made his childhood challenging. He attended and graduated from Tema Senior High School.[4] He gained admission into the Ghana Institute of Journalism but due to financial constraints, he could not further his education. He also applied to the University of Ghana but did not gain admission. Life became hard and he needed to make ends meets for survival. He accounts of one incidence which almost made him a security guard in his neighbourhood.[1]
