Kyero is a leading European property portal that specialises in helping international clients buy or rent property from estate agents in Spain, Portugal, France and Italy.
History
Kyero is a registered trademark of Portal 47 Limited, a privately owned company founded in 2003 by Martin Dell.[1] and Louise Dell[2], British entrepreneurs who had moved to Spain and spotted an opportunity to provide a better way for buyers and sellers to navigate the Spanish property market.
Kyero launched its website kyero.com in September 2003, focusing initially on the southern coast of Spain and, through collaboration with popular property management systems [3], quickly expanded to cover the whole of Spain.
Kyero was voted Best International Property Portal at the 2007 CNBC Awards, and won the 2007 and 2008 CNBC award for Best Property Portal Spain [4] at the time of the Spanish property bubble.
Kyero offers a comprehensive range of services designed to help buyers and sellers navigate the international property market, providing commentary on market conditions [5], transparent news summaries [6], and published its own House Price Index [7] to deliver trends and insights [8] for estate agents and international home seekers [9]
Kyero launched its own Spanish Property podcast in 2018[10] and in 2019 expanded its services to Portugal [11], followed by France and Italy in 2021.
Kyero is currently published in 13 languages, with its audience primarily based in the UK and mainland Europe, also serving clients from around the globe who are looking to move to Spain[12], Portugal, France and Italy.
Kyero was awarded B Corporation (certification) status in 2023[13] and presents its commitment to being a for-profit business with high social and environmental awareness, being carbon negative through investment with the Nori Carbon Removal Marketplace [14] and donates 1% of total revenue in Spain to the Spanish homelessness charity Hogar sí RAIS [15]
Operation
Kyero has operated a freemium business model since 2020[16], with revenue made from listing estate agents on its website and offering additional advertising products to those agents.
The company has a vast database of properties available for sale or rent, including apartments, villas, townhouses, and rural properties. Additionally, Kyero provides information on the property market, including news, trends, and insights for both buyers and sellers.
