Kyndryl
Kyndryl is the independent Managed Infrastructure Services Business that IBM spun off.[1]
History
Kyndryl was formed as a wholly-owned subsidiary of IBM in September 2021 to hold the operations of the managed infrastructure services unit of IBM’s Global Technology Services segment. On November 3, 2021, IBM distributed shares representing 80.1% of Kyndryl’s outstanding common stock to IBM’s common stock sahare holders. Following the distribution, Kyndryl became an independent, publicly-traded company and the world’s leading managed infrastructure services provider.[2]
Kyndryl is a modern adaptation of two words: "Kyn" is derived from the word kinship, the focus on people - employees, customers and partners. "Dryl" comes from tendril, representing new growth.[1]
Products and Services
Kyndryl has six global managed services practices: cloud; digital workplace; security and resiliency; network and edge; core enterprise and zCloud; and applications, data and artificial intelligence (AI). [3]
Kyndryl advises customers on digital environments and advanced technology adoption and integration.
