L'Espace (concept store)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

L’Espace is a multi-brand concept store in Lagos, Nigeria. Located in Victoria Island, the store was established on 18 December 2011.[1]

Le Petit Marche, a monthly market held in Lagos and largely considered to have made a substantial impact on the shopping culture in the city [2] is its sister brand.

Their product mix spans : - Fashion (Menswear, Womenswear and Children) - Beauty - Lifestyle - Fashion and Lifestyle Services

Created by the CEO duo of Isoken Ogiemwonyi and Wonuola Odunsi in 2011 as an expansion of their wildly successful 'Le Petit Marche' monthly fashion and lifestyle market founded 3 years earlier.[3] Their gamble paid off and L'Espace rapidly became one of Lagos's main fashion destinations.

Le Petit Marche was credited with fostering such talents as Akpos Okudu, Ejiro Amos Tafiri, Grey, Babushka and Alali Boutique [4]

L'Espace was the first store in Nigeria to stock only African/African-owned design.

The store is dedicated to promoting new design talent on the African continent and has recently championed designers such as Vintage Colette (MTN Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2011 winner) and WSClothing Co. They have made it known that they intend to expand both the L'Espace and Le Petit Marche brands across Nigeria and then eventual expansion into the rest of Africa.[5] L'Espace held its first annual Style Summit at their Victoria Island flagship in February 2015.[6]

Following the founders' parting ways in May 2015, the holding company Winterfell created a new brand ZAZAII.

Press for the new store included thetThe Nation newspaper
